i came home and i found my dog in the bathroom - bumping around every place he was hitting his head all over and not knowing which way is out. I looked in his eyes and all i could see was a white shield. My dog has gone blind.
Granted my dog has survived a really long life. He's 17 years old. I got him just after he turned 1 and i recuperated him and he healed me. My dog was owned by a family who would tie him to the back yard and not feed him for days at a time. For a dog he had a very rough first year. Luckily, my mom was able to rescue him from the hellhole he was in and we took him in. He helped me heal because i had just lost my nephew (he was moving 25 hours away to Ohio) and at that time that seemed like eons ago -- i was in middle school. He provided the comfort i needed to get over this "loss."
I don't know how to deal with this. I know i have to prepare myself to someday soon make the decision that my dog needs to be put to sleep for his own health. BUT i don't think i can make that decision.
Bingo is the only constant that i've had in my life in the last couple of years. I know i can always count on coming home and finding him there.

This is my dog: BINGO
