| The Charmed sisters will welcome a new witch into their friendly fold this fall, when Kaley Cuoco joins the cast as a regular character. Charmed came close to an early demise this spring, when many assumed it would be cancelled due to steadily declining ratings over the past two seasons. The WB gave the series a stay of execution, however, and it will return for an eighth season in its customary Sunday-night timeslot. Cuoco, who played Bridget Hennessy in ABC's recently canceled 8 Simple Rules, will take on the role of a young witch under the tutelage of the Charmed trio (Alyssa Milano, Rose McGowan , and Holly Marie Combs). This will be her first regular role in a drama series. In addition to her Rules role, Cuoco has appeared in TV movies and miniseries on ABC and NBC. She will be joined in the Charmed cast by fellow newcomer Mark McGrath, who will appear in several episodes this fall. |
