My flight left Orlando very early this morning. Usually, i'm wide awake before flights and have no trouble making it to the airport on time. Well last night was a different story. I have been working long hours lately, namely 15-16 hour days in order to make sure that while i'm away that i dont' have to worry about anything that has to do with work. So everything at work is taken care of and i settle on going home. Of course though, I forgot to get my stuff ready for the trip. So i spent the better part of thursday evening, doing laundry and packing instead of sleeping as i had originally planned. WHOOPS :) Ultimately, I end up going to bed around 130am and hating my alarm clock (as it rings at 330 am). I wake up and analyze the situation and decide that i can handle going back to sleep for just a little bit more. Well that little bit turns into 2 hours :( - oh nos!
My flight was scheduled to leave at 715am on Friday morning and waking up that late put a little wrench in my plans. Luckily though I live 15 minutes from the airport and flew all the way down there. I made it to the airport in record time, but of course since I woke up late - I really wasn't dressed for the flight. I was wearing shorts and flip flops and my jacket was in my checked baggage. I boarded my plan and off the travel began.
We did have a connection in Atlanta, the plane for once ran on time and so when the first flight landed, i had plenty of time in Atlanta to grab a drink go to the restroom and get some grub. The layover was under 40 minutes.
I did meet up with a guy that was coming to the same conference as I am attending. Ironically enough, we both bought our tickets 3 months ago and chose seats next to each other. lol. This was not planned in any way shape or form.
The flight to New Hampshire was uneventful (YAY). The temperature at landing was under 40degrees farenheit. I got to the hotel and they didn't have our room ready. So i placed my luggage in the storage location and went to check in for the conference. Got myself all checked in and mingled with the other guests in the hotel. After about an hour, i checked back in at the hotel front desk and my room was available. Prior to receiving my room i was still in my flight outfit because i had been unable to change. It was a little cold when we got here but i got used to the weather really fast.
The event so far is going pretty good. I've been able to see a lot of really fun friends from events past.
as you can tell by the crappy photos that i posted earlier, Bill Clinton was our guest speaker tonight.
I was supposed to go out to a bar after dinner tonight, but came upstairs to my room and took a little nap while the rest of the crew finished eating dinner. Unfortunately, the nap lasted 5 hours lol and I missed the party -- oh well there's still 2 more days of craziness.
Off to sleep now.
Signing off - it's Gossip Girl XOXO - lol haha i felt like saying that to see what it felt like.

Howdy boys and Girls,
Hope that you all have had a wonderful couple of weeks. How can i excuse my recent absence from LJ? Hell you all probably didn't even notice.... I really can't i hope that you will forgive me. I just haven't felt like the blogging type lately. It's been a trying two weeks.
So the medication that i've been placed on is supposed to make me feel light headed aka high...well it doesn't. If that doesn't prove that i have a high tolerance then i don't knwo what will lol.
So i guess i'll start with my trip last weekend.
Last weekend (may 5-8) i was out of town. I drove a total of 1000 miles. It was fun but fucking tiring i tell you. I drove from Orlando to Bronson. From Bronson to Jacksonville. From Jacksonville to Bronson. From Bronson to Tallahassee. From Tallahassee to Bronson. From Bronson to Orlando. i saw all of rural north florida and am able to appreciate the city life that i live. The reason i made so many trips to Bronson is because i was picking and dropping off my friend/travel buddy that has family that lives there. I was in jacksonville for a friends play. It was called Left Hand Singing and it was playing at the First Coast Theater. Jacksonville is a nice city, but i'm glad i don't live there. I was easily bored. We did head over to park place and Metro but they were both lame and i was really tired from the trips that i realy didn't enjoy myself. i"ll have to re-evaluate Jacksonville another time when i'm less tired. It's not fair of me to judge a city by that experience.
I did speak w/
caughtshort on the phone and he gave me directions as i was a wee bit lost. :) Thanks James. Next time i'm up there you must make yourself available :) That night i drove to Tallahassee and played Poker for the first time for money. The game was winner take all -- it was a fun game and i only lost $5.
Monday i spent the day in Tallahassee, met with some of the big wigs of the local democratic party and scheduled a couple of additional meetings for later this summer.
I came back to Orlando on Tuesday and have been here since. I was planning on possibly taking a day trip to the coast but we have forest fires up the wazoo and it would be totally uncomfortable.
This past Saturday i attended the local democratic party's Jefferson Jackson dinner. All of our State candidates were in attendance and gave speeches including our two candidates for governor. Due to my position with the Young Democrats i'm not able to officially endorse a candidate, but i do know how i'm voting and i can't wait for the september primaries. hopefully my candidate will be able to pull through. At the event, i was able to ge tthe autograph of one of the candidates on one of his campaign signs. That's going to be a great piece of memorobilia if he gets elected governor.
Sunday I had a Tarot card reading. It said i should stop being so analytical. So i'm going to try but i can't make any promises:)
How many of you have been watching CHARMED??? DId you see last night's episode? OMG!! AMAZING the quality of the cinematography is great. I felt like i was watching a movie. the Series Finale is next weekened and i'm really excited about it. Although, the previews basically gave away the plot and let me jsut say i'm not too excited abuot this plot. it's been recycled over and over again.
it was nice to finally see brian krause in life form again. He's a hunky man.
Alright so my lunch break is almost over. i better head upstairs and learn all that i can learn.
Tlak with you ladies and gentlemen soon.
Please comment and show some love. I've missed you all. XXOOO ::HUGS & KISSES::

OMG what an exciting weekend.
As i stated in my most recent post, I attended the 2005 Florida Democratic Party State Conference held at Disney's Contemporary Resort this past weekend.
The conference began on Friday with Keynote Speaker, DNC Chairman Howard Dean. He energized the crowd and got them ready for the 2006 election cycle.

After Chairman Dean spoke he introduced Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack who ended the evening with his comparison of Florida and Iowa Politics. Friday night we partied it up a bit and called it a night at around 3am.
I woke up saturday morning at 530 to shower and get dressed in my suit for the days events. These included breakfast with Gov Vilsack, Lunch with Former Sen Edwards and Dinner with Senator Barack Obama. The days events also included a Young Democrats meeting, where we amended our constitution and Adopted the Creation of the Florida Young & College Democrats - the umbrella association that will oversee Florida's Young Democrats and Florida's College Democrats. At our meeting on saturday we had US Senator Bill Nelson address the delegation. He introduced his family and campaign staff.
I was excited that I was given the opportunity to Chair the meeting on Saturday. I didn't do too well as i wasn't prepared to Chair and didn't have things ready, but for being put into the spot, I picked up and had it all taken care of.
Senator Obama was a great guest speaker. The first thing he did when he got onstage was to give the FDP a check (unknown amount) in support of our Party and it's work over the next few months. He spoke of the time that Dirk Durbin visited rural (aka mostly republican) southwest Illinois during his campaign in the 60's and was almost accosted by the people of the city. When Sen Durbin went with Barack to that same city, 40 years later in support of Barack's campaign and there were hundreds of people waiting in support of Barack's campaign.
Of course after all of the days events and all of the great speakers, the best way to end things for the night was with a few drinks. We hopped from Party To Party just boozing it up, finally ending up in the jacuzzi at
1:35 AM. LOL
Sunday was the last day of the conference and the official Awards Ceremony for the Young Democrats. The following awards were handed out:
County Chapter of the Year: Leon County Young Democrats
College Chapter of the Year: Florida State University College Democrats
High School Chapter of the Year: East Side High School Young Democrats, Alachua County
FYD Event of Distinction: Leon County Young Democrats, for the Democratic Legislative Staff Reception
Jeffrey Mattison Wershow Award: Stephen Gorham, US Navy Veteran
Young Democrat of the Year: Kristian Cosme
Democrat of the Year: Honorable Karen Thurman
Lifetime Achievement Award: Senator Bob Graham
If you didn't notice, the YOUNG DEMOCRAT OF THE YEAR AWARD went to ME... YES ladies and Gentlemen, my peers at the Florida Young Democrats selected me as the Young Democrat of the Year. I was really honored and esteemed. Senator Dave Aronberg from South Florida presented me with my award.
In other exciting news, i was also appointed as the new Executive Director of the Florida Young Democrats. This position is in charge of the Daily operations of the Young Democrats. It's going to open up many opportunities but at the same time is going to be hard work as we prepare for the 2006 Gubernatorial Race.
Our caucus was joined by FDP Chair Thurman, Congressman Barney Frank, and Governor Mark Warner. We were also joined by several local, regional, and statewide candidates including Jim Davis, Rod Smith, and Alex Sink.
Well that's my weekend in a nutshell, once i get more pictures i'll be sure to update you all with them. I do want to end this with my endorsement of the following candidate for President of the United States of America. Governor Mark Warner has done some great things in his state of Virginia and i look forward to him doing some great things in the USA. So in closing here is the Governor.
